Receiving a Second Opinion

Our hospital accepts second-opinion consultations only for cancer.

To those who request a second opinion

The following procedures are required to receive a second opinion.

Required procedures

1. To receive a consultation

Consultations are by reservation only. Be sure to call the Medical Welfare Consultation Office to make an appointment.
Please note that you cannot receive a second opinion consultation without an appointment.

Those not eligible for a second opinion

• who wish consultations related to medical malpractice or a pending court case.
• who wish consultations about the examination or treatment of a deceased patient.

2. Cancer tumors for which a second opinion is available

Please inform us of the cancer tumor for which you wish to receive a second opinion. We will inform you whether a second opinion is available at our hospital.
Note that we may not be able to accept your request depending on the details.

3. Date and time of a second opinion consultation

We will inform you of the date and time for the second opinion consultation after reviewing your request.

4. Necessary documents

Before the day of the second opinion consultation, please send the necessary documents by mail in advance. If the day of your consultation is in the immediate future, please send the documents by express mail.

• Testing data, etc

5. Fees

Second-opinion services are not covered by insurance. The costs shall be borne by the patient.

• up to 30 minutes: 11,000 yen (tax included)
• up to 60 minutes: 22,000 yen (tax included)

If you are an outpatient or hospitalized patient and would like to hear the opinion not only of your doctor but also of doctors from other hospitals, please inform your doctor or nurse.
